Garden of Eden 3

Garden of Eden 3 was the smallest known Garden of Eden at the time of its discovery, and the orphan on which it was based was also the smallest. It was found by Achim Flammenkamp on June 14, 2004.[1] On February 11, 2006, Nicolay Beluchenko found a smaller version of this Garden of Eden (and orphan) by removing the rightmost cell and moving two others, but the smaller Garden of Eden 4 had already been discovered.

  • The smaller orphan found by Nicolay Beluchenko contains 80 alive cells, a total of 134 cells, and fits in a 12 × 12 bounding box.
