Yoko Shimomura/Awesome Music

• Perhaps the most famous female videogame composer ever, Shimomura is largely known for the Kingdom Hearts series, which alone is one crowning symphony of awesome. But there's also her other works, such as Live-A-Live. Every song in it is starkly different but all epic. Megalomania The Bird Flies In The Sky, The Fish Swims In The River, Knock You Down, Murder By A Psycho, The Wanderer, the list goes on.
• Shimomura did the music for Street Fighter II. Kingdom Hearts, nothing - even if most people don't know she was behind that soundtrack, it's far and away her most famous work.
• Let's not forget Shimomura is the composer for Super Mario RPG. Beware The Forest's Mushrooms, or perhaps Marrymore you would prefer.
  • Weapons Factory, And My Name's Booster, and both of Smithy's themes definitely count as well.
• She's also responsible for the soundtrack to all three Mario & Luigi RPGs.
  • Which means she is also responsible for this piece of awesomeness.
• Pick anything from Legend of Mana, and you will find her work.

• She's responsible for the haunting and pulse-pounding sounds of Parasite Eve as well:
  • Influence of Deep for some holy shit techno opera.
    • The OST Gives us this remix as a bonus track.
  • Under the Progress for a song that screams "Run away. Run faster. No, faster than that. Keep running. YOU'RE NOT RUNNING FAST ENOUGH."
  • Ultimate Being for one of the most tense and driving final boss themes of the 32-bit era.
  • "Primal Eyes" the series main theme. Here is The 3rd Birthday's version.
  • No mention of the heart-breaking song Someone Calls Me... Someone Looks For Me yet?
• Remember "King Dedede's Theme" or "Tetris A" in Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Yeah, that was her. So was the remix of "Gritzy Desert".
• From Radiant Historia: Blue Radiance, one of her more interesting battle songs.
  • The final boss theme, "An Ernest Desire of Grey", at first sounds like it might be your typical Ominous Pipe Organ-filled JRPG boss theme - and then the violin kicks in.
• While not many people may know about this one, but she also helped compose the soundtrack to Little King's Story. While the songs are all remixes of famous classical music and not her original compositions, they are fantastic remixes.
