Tabitha's Salon Takeover

"Hand me your keys. I’m taking over."

This reality TV show stars Tabatha Coffey, the former Shear Genius Ensemble Darkhorse contestant and hair salon owner who helps failing salons turn around in one week. She leads the show by letting the owners of a failing salon know that they've hit rock-bottom, and then proceeds to take the salon over and re-work it from the ground up.

The episodes are largely self-contained, with the formula always the same. The salon is failing, the salon gets taken over, the salon gets reworked, Tabatha leaves... then she comes back.

The series premiered on August 21, 2008, and is currently in its third season. The show is starting casting for its fourth season!

The fourth season will undergo a Retool, and will be renamed 'Tabatha Takes Over', which will debut on January 10, 2012.

Tropes used in Tabitha's Salon Takeover include:
  • The Chessmaster: Tabatha does seem to have an abnormal amount of control over people.
  • Mean Brit: If she isn't complimenting you, Tabatha is usually telling you what you did wrong — and in very blunt terms (though she is Australian instead of the usual British).
  • Wicked Cultured: While she may come off as mean and arrogant, the truth is that Tabatha knows what she's talking about and her advice is genuinely helpful and well intentioned.
