Mario Golf/YMMV

  • Crowning Moment of Awesome: Sudden death in the Nintendo 64 version where you get to play under the nighttime sky!
  • Crowning Music of Awesome:
  • Fan Service: An extremely mild version given that it's a No Hugging, No Kissing game but the very fact that in a game where everyone dresses modestly and halfway formally, the women (Plum, Peach, Maple, and Daisy) wear shorts to show off their legs counts given that they are all good looking by Mario universe standards.
  • Fetish Fuel: This goes into EXTREME YMMV territory, but Maple has attracted this for various reasons. On one hand, she as been described as a "hot surfer girl" on a Let's Play due to her accent. Also we can't forget the fact that she can kick most guys' asses at golf, and she wears a ligthtly Fan Service-y outfit. And she has a Bob Haircut which alone is Fetish Fuel for some. Basically she's a girl that can have short hair, kick ass, and still like a cute and laid back surfer girl/ValleyGirl.
  • Game Breaker: In the Advance Tour version, the Super POW Club and the Super-Straight club. The former increases distance by a great amount, which is well worth the higher height boost, the worse shot, and the worse control, as you have a chance at getting freaking Eagles consistently. The latter straightens out your shot completely, at the cost of some distance, but in this case it will be an advantage as pretty much the only time you could absolutely benefit from a bona fide straight shot is when you'e aiming for the pin and are hoping to get a chip-in: You won't need to calculate more than where the ball will land, the wind, and the lie on the green, skipping the angle, and the smaller drive distance makes it easier to manipulate how far the ball will go.
  • Uncanny Valley: Due to it being early in the 3D Games era, the human characters with their undetailed eyes and unmoving mouths attracted a bit of this reaction.
