Dethroning Moment of Suck (Darth Wiki)/Anime and Manga/Inuyasha
Keep in mind:
- Moments only, no "just everything he said, " "The entire show, " or "This entire season, " entries.
- No contesting entries. This is subjective, the entry is their opinion.
- No natter. As above, anything contesting an entry will be cut, and anything that's just contributing more can be made its own entry.
- Explain why it's a Dethroning Moment Of Suck.
- No Real Life examples, including Executive Meddling. That is just asking for trouble.
- No ASSCAPS, no bold, and no italics unless it's the title of a work. We are not yelling the DMoSs out loud.
- The ending of "Kirara Come Home". After believing that Kirara ran away, it was revealed that Miyoga was borrowing her. Apparantly, Shippo gave him permission, but he was half asleep. So, instead of punishing Miyoga, everyone agrees to beat up Shippo. Even Kagome, who usually punishes Inuyasha for beating up Shippo, encourages it. Our heroes, ladies and gentlemen. Watch as they beat up a small child for something that wasn't his fault.
- At one point, the gang encounters a mountain spirit that gives them information on Naraku's heart, along with a crystal that could help them track it down. The manga supposedly handles this one alright, but in the anime, Hakudoshi offs the spirit, making the crystal the heroes just got not five minutes earlier completely useless. Granted, Inuyasha by that point was becoming notorious for adding pointless MacGuffins and power-ups and needlessly dragging the storyline, but even by its standards, this plot point was a total waste of time.
- The Band of Seven arc; particularly Jakotsu. His "schtick" is that he's a gay guy who hates women (even though he looks like one, talks like one, and is voiced by one in the sub and the dub) and is attracted to Inuyasha. I'm sorry, did I say "attracted"? That might actually have some potential for humor. He wants to rape him and kill him slowly. He's a sexual serial killer, the anime equivalent of Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy. And yet he gets the most screen time and Character Development, because he's so "loyal" to Bankotsu, his leader. But the worst part is his Alas, Poor Villain death. Let me get this straight (no pun intended); the creep who spent two episodes trying to rape and kill a helpless Inuyasha, licking his blood, gets to die spewing all the usual "I have no regrets" crap? Inuyasha doesn't even finish him off personally, when not only does he deserve to die, he has a Sacred Jewel shard in his neck that needs to be collected and kept out of Naraku's reach. I didn't stop watching the show after this disgusting spectacle (I finished the series with the Final Act), but I lost all my faith in it, and I don't really watch anime anymore.
- The episode where Shippo was introduced. After Kagome gets captured by the Thunder Brothers, Shippo decides to turn to Inuyasha. However, he is still pissed because he laid a statue on his hand, immobilizing him. Shippo only promises to free him if he doesn't hit him. When he does, it immediately cuts to him beating the crap out of Shippo. I'm sorry, was that supposed to be funny? Not only is Child Abuse not funny, but it makes Inuyasha come off as a complete prick. This is who we have to root for, ladies and gentlemen: an effeminate furry who beats up small children.
