Here's Boomer

Here's Boomer was a Heroic Pet Story series that aired very early in The Eighties, featuring the adventures of a mixed-breed dog. As The Other Wiki points out, the premise of the show was similar to The Littlest Hobo.

Newly famous on the Internet because a very big fan recently (August 2010) tried to legally change his name to "Boomer the Dog" and was denied by the court. Is there no justice?!

Tropes used in Here's Boomer include:
  • Heroic Pet Story: The series follows the adventures of Boomer, a stray dog that traveled around helping people in trouble.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes - in order to get an English language video of the show to put on his YouTube channel, the guy had to combine video from a German TV broadcast with audio from a home cassette tape. (Picture a kid in the 80's sitting next to the TV with a tape recorder, capturing the audio.) The result is actually pretty good quality!
  • Walking the Earth - the theme song possibly summarizes that trope better than anything else outside of its Trope Namer:

Like magic he appears, a hero to save the day,
and just when you think he's here for good,
that's when he goes away. Because he's
Boomer, he's never gonna settle down
Boomer, wandering from town to town
