Fridge Horror

  • In Sharon Creech's Ruby Holler, an older couple (Tiller and Sairy) decide to take separate dream vacations. Accident-prone twins Dallas and Florida are taken from a group home run by a crooked husband and wife resident management team. Teal deer, the four manage to foil the crooks' plans to steal Tiller and Sairy's life savings, and the old couple adopts the twins. Yet the happy ending doesn't change the fact that not only does Sharon Creech not know/not care how the foster care system works...Tiller and Sairy basically set out at the beginning to rent two kids. They wanted them as companions/porters for their "last hurrah" vacations. They fully planned to take them each on a trip and return them at the end the way they'd return a rented boat or camping equipment.
