Zhang Jiao is the Taoist leader of the rebellion known as the Yellow Turban Rebellion. He was the founder of the philosophy known as The Way of Peace, which he preached to the people of China. He attempted to overthrow the Han Dynasty.
He is portrayed as a magician with a rather ridiculous manner of speech. He is known to frequently mention the word "Heaven" during his over the top speeches.
- Badass: The point he kick started the era that would lead to the end of the Han.
- Badass Preacher - Lampshaded by Sakon Shima in the second Warriors Orochi game.
- Badass Beard: Seen in several depictions throughout the series.
- Back From the Dead - In Lu Bu's story in DW6
- Catch Phrase - That's one more disbeliever converted!
- Also, the heavens!
- Church Militant
- Does Not Like Shoes - DW7
- Fan Nickname - "Chinese Jesus" due to his look in a few of the games.
- Good Shepherd - To his followers. Especially portrayed as such in the Warriors Orochi series, where he is only an antagonist to the Orochi forces and never in conflict with the Dynasty Warriors characters (unless they are part of the Orochi forces).
- Sinister Minister - He is this to his enemies.
- Kung Fu Wizard - Combines magic and martial arts moves.
- Large Ham - The guy is preachy in every single one of his lines, even when he's giving a battle briefing! Definite Narm Charm.
- Magic Staff - Always wields a fiery one.
- Playing with Fire
- Religion Is Magic
- Warmup Boss - In both the novel and the game series, due to the Yellow Turban Rebellion being the precursor to the Three Warring Kingdoms era.
- We Hardly Knew Ye
