Srimadvirat Veerabrahmendra Swami Charitra
Sri Madvirat Veerabrahmendra Swami Charitra (Telugu: శ్రీమద్విరాట్ వీరబ్రహ్మేంద్ర స్వామి చరిత్ర) is a 1984 Telugu hagiographical film, based on life of Pothuluri Veerabrahmam, produced and directed by N. T. Rama Rao under his Ramakrishna Cine Studios banner. N. T. Rama Rao portrayed the characters of Gautama Buddha, Vemana, Ramanuja, Adi Shankara along with the title role. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Rati Agnihotri, Kanchana in the lead roles and music composed by Susarla Dakshinamurthi. Actually, shooting of the film was completed by 1981, but the release got delayed due to objection from the censor board asking to delete a few scenes from the movie, to which NTR did not agree and immediately took the matter to court and finally got it released in November 1984.

Plot
The story is based on the life of Pothuluri Veerabrahmam (N. T. Rama Rao), a well-known saint and astrologer of the 17th century. A brief life of Gautama Buddha, Ramanuja, Adi Shankara and Vemana (all essayed by NTR) are shown at the beginning of the film.

Box office
This movie was a huge Industry Hit movie, this is the first Telugu film released with more than 100 prints, in its first week, it collected a humongous amount: Rs.1 crore, and it ran for 300 days in Hyderabad. The film's budget is just Rs. 15 lakhs excluding NTR's remuneration. It collected Rs. 6 crores and became the highest grosser in regional films in the world at that time.[1]
