Ray G

Reagan Muhairwe (born 1992) better known by his stage name Ray G Rhiganz is a Ugandan musician and songwriter. He is known for singing in his mother, cultural and heritage language Runyankole.[1] He is one of well known talented musical artists from Ankole Kingdom in the Ankole sub Region and the whole of Western Uganda with other likes of Juliana Kanyomozi , Sister Charity and Allan Toniks.[2][3]

Ray G has been attending and performing on numerous occasions like Ekinihiro Kya 100.2 Fm Radio West With other Artists like Rasta Chars, Sister Charity, Ykee Benda and Bebe Cool.[4] He has also managed to act on Comedy Store, with many entertainers like Spice Diana a comedy show held every Thursday in Kampala, Uganda, hosted by Alex Muhangi.[5]

Music Career and Education

He broke through on the seen in 2012, when he released his singles titled Amarali and Enshazi shortly after he had finished his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education from Bushenyi. This was due because of low funding abilities to take him to the University.[8]

On 14 September 2019 he staged his susseccful concert dubbed Ray G Live in Concert. This was considered to be the first concert for a western Uganda's musician to have the higher number of attendance at Agip motel in Mbarara City.[9][10]

After his Ray G Maiden concert, some deejays, radio presenters, promoters from Western Uganda muted all his music, for failure to pay them for the advertisement they made fo his concert.[11]

Marriage

Ray had of recent got engaged to his long time girlfriend and Television personality Annabella Twinomugisha who works on TV West, a Western Uganda based Television Station after a two-year period of dating time.[12][13][14] He was introduced to Annabell's parents on 18 July 2020, in Ntungamo District.[15][16] It was also clear that he was in relationship before with an ex girlfriend Namara whom they stayed together for 3 alleged years.[17]

Achievements

Ray G has won numerous awards that include the sixth, Seventh and Eighths HiPipo Music Awards for the best Region Song of the year. He has managed with songs like Ninkwesiga, Nuunu and Weeshe. His song omusheshe featuring Spice Diana won the best written song of the year 2019.[18]
