King Monada

Khutso Steven Kgatle (born 25 November 1992), better known by his stage name King Monada, is a South African singer, songwriter, and record producers. Monada comes from a family of five. He attended Sebone Primary School and Mafutasane High School. Monada, however, dropped out of school before completing grade 8 to pursue music.[1] He rose to fame after the release of his 2016 single "Ska Bhora Moreki". He is known for singing in the Khelobedu Pedi languages,[2] which are local dialects of Northern Sotho.

King Monada was born in Sebama village in Tzaneen Town. He then moved with his Mother to Mokgoloboto village.He attended school at Sebone primary and Mafutsane high school. He dropped out due to personal issues. He started doing music in 2006 with his uncle. Later, in 2008, he met Tsotsiman who taught him more about music. He met other friends whom he did music with artists such as DJ Letsatsi, Master Chuza, Skynet etc. Early in 2015 Molao signed Monada to his Open Mic Record Label. They released "Rehlalani" music video his signing and in 2016 they released the "Ska Bhora Moreki" music video which was King Monada's First National Hit. The song was such a bit that it was nominated to be song of the year on many occasions. Monada parted ways with Open Mic and opened his own record label called King Monada Music on which he released his smash hit, "Malwedhe"(Idibala) or the "collapse" song, which trended worldwide. The song made it to the top ten songs of the year list.

Monada is a happily married man with two wives. He has kids and does some charity work and this makes him a philanthropist. He spends much of his time in studio. He has worked with Kabza de Small, Dj Maphorisa, Sha-sha, Tshego, Heavy-K, Gigi lamayne, DJ Dino, Double Trouble,, Muungu Africa, Mack Eaze, Dj Tira, Blaq Diamond, Leon Lee to name a few.

Monada's 2018 single "Malwedhe" gained international recognition and won Song of the Year at the Limpopo Music Awards (LIMA), where he also won the award for Best Male Artist .[3]

His first body of work and album was titled "Molamo" and was released in 2016. He finally dropped his long awaited studio album titled "Ex Ya Drama" in 2020.


King Monada has released a brand new commercial single titled Ase Moruti. The new Bolo House recording collaborates with Mack Eaze.[4]
