Emiliana Arango

Emiliana Arango (Spanish pronunciation: [emiˈljana aˈɾaŋɡo]; born 28 November 2000) is a Colombian junior tennis player.[1]

She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 345 achieved on 16 April 2018. As of 16 March 2020, Arango won 1 ITF title in singles.[2] Playing for Colombia in Fed Cup, Arango has a win-loss record of 7–8.[3]

Junior career

On the junior tour, Arango has a career high junior ranking of 8, achieved in January 2018. In singles, she reached semifinal at the 2017 US Open junior in singles, where she lost from Amanda Anisimova. In doubles, she reached two quarterfinals, both in 2017, at Wimbledon and US Open, respectively. As junior, she won three singles titles, and three doubles titles.[4]

Professional career

Arango made her WTA singles debut at the 2016 Copa Colsanitas, where she lost in first round from Irina Falconi, winning only one game.

At the 2018 Copa Colsanitas she secured her first win at WTA level with a 3 set victory over 4th seed Veronica Cepede Royg.[5]
