AML was established by Abdul Momen,[6] a pioneer Industrial leader in the private sector of Bangladesh.[7] A veteran civil engineer, Abdul Monem founded the conglomerate in 1956[8]. The group is currently made up of more than 20 different companies.[9] It also has set up one of the largest Bangladesh's first private economic zones.[10] The company is the official bottler of Coca-Cola in Bangladesh.[11]
