Reignwood Group

Reignwood Group (Chinese: 华彬集团) is an independent Chinese investment company owning brands and growth companies in China, the rest of Asia, the UK and the US. It was founded in 1984 by Dr Chanchai Ruayrungruang, a Thai-Chinese entrepreneur with strong roots in China. Reignwood’s investments span a range of sectors giving it exposure across a multiple number of growth industries in different countries. The primary sectors of activity include consumer products, hotels and residential property, golf courses, wellness centres, travel agencies, aviation, offshore engineering and financing. Countries that Reignwood is active in include China, Singapore, the US and the UK. [1]

Some of the most significant consumer products include the distribution of Red Bull and other drinks in China. In July 2014, Reignwood purchased a 25% stake in All Market, producer of Vita Coco [2] and in 2016 acquired a majority control of Voss. [3]

The most notable brands in the UK are Ten Trinity Square - a mixed-use scheme including the Four Seasons Hotel London, Residences and Ten Trinity Square Private Club [4] and Wentworth Club.

Birthplace of the Ryder Cup, home of the European Tour and host of the BMW PGA Championship, Reignwood purchased Wentworth Club in 2014 [5] and has since committed over £20 million worth of investment to upgrade all the facilities including the courses and the clubhouse. [6]

Reignwood purchased Ten Trinity Square in 2010 and spent 7 years restoring the Grade-II* listed heritage building. Originally designed by renowned architect Sir Edwin Cooper, it was built in 1922 as the headquarters of the Port of London Authority. On 19th July 2019, the development was announced as the winner of the annual City Heritage Award. Nominated by the City Heritage Society and the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers, the award is given to the best conservation or refurbishment project in the City of London [7]. Other key accolades to its name are AA Hotel of the Year London 2018-19 [8] and a 2nd a second Michelin star for LA Dame de Pic London [9], one of the three dining options within the hotel.

A collaboration between Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Château Latour and the Reignwood Group, Ten Trinity Square Private Club offers a members’ bar, library and billiards room, the club is also home to an indoor cigar shop and lounge and membership includes access to the Four Seasons Spa. [10]

The Reignwood Culture Foundation was created to help drive cultural exchange between the UK and China. Whilst the Principal Sponsor for the London Symphony Orchestra for three years, Reignwood supported the orchestra’s work in the UK and in China, as well as its digital education and outreach initiatives helping to make teaching and learning resources more widely available.
