Gone Dark

Gone Dark (originally titled The Limit) is a 2003 Canadian-British crime drama mystery film directed by Lewin Webb, written by Matt Holland and starring Lauren Bacall, Claire Forlani, Henry Czerny and Pete Postlethwaite.[1]

The film was screened at the Montreal World Film Festival on August 29, 2003 and initially released on DVD on June 1, 2004 under the title Gone Dark.[2]

Plot

Monica (Claire Forlani) is an undercover police detective working on investigating a drug-dealing operation run by Gale (Pete Postlethwaite) with whom she is romantically involved and is now addicted to heroin herself. At the same time, she is also having a relationship with Denny (Henry Czerny), her second in command. Denny lives in an apartment building and his neighbor is a feisty senior citizen named May Markham (Lauren Bacall).

One night, May is awaken by a gun shot that kills Denny; however, it is not clear if it is a case of murder of suicide. Monica meets May soon after Denny's death, and the two have coffee. Denny had some evidence that could break up the drug syndicate and when May finds a package addressed to Denny that was accidentally delivered to her apartment, she becomes embroiled in a task force operation with Monica.
